Computer Engineering
Professor Yun joined the faculty at UC San Diego in 1994. Following his
Master's degree at MIT in 1985, he joined TRW as a member of the technical
start, where he had designed numerous high performance signal processors for
spaceborne and tactical applications. In 1990, he )oined Hitachi Micro
Systems as a senior design engineer to investigate the next generation
microprocessor emulator architecture.
Research Interests
Synthesis, verification, and analysis of mixed-timed digital VLSI circuits
and systems: design methodologies and tools; applications to ultra-high
performance processor design and high-speed networking.
Current Research
The synthesis, verification, and analysis of niixed-timed VLSI designs: in
particular, interface design methodologies and tools to facilitate Ultra
High-Speed communications between synchronous modules operating at different
clock frequencies and between synchronous and asynchronous modules and
between asynchronous and asynchronous modules.
Honors and Distinctions
First Presidential Award, Hitachi Micro Systems, 1991
